Lucas Kadar joined ACNJ as an acupuncturist in January 2021, but he has been around for much longer than that. The son of two acupuncturists, including ACNJ founder Peter Kadar, Lucas has done pretty much every job there is to do at the practice, and has been around acupuncture his whole life.

Lucas represents a new generation of healers. To him, it’s not about the white coat (although he does proudly wear his), or being the ultimate authority on health. What drives his practice is the belief that each individual’s innate knowledge of their own body is the best tool for health, even though that knowledge is often hidden by various societal pressures and stressors. His goal is to use the powerful tools of acupuncture, herbs, diet, cupping and other techniques to work together with each person to guide them into their own optimal state of health.

Lucas is passionate about helping people reach their goals, and he has helped and continues to help patients with ailments ranging from physical pain, to fertility issues, to stress management and much more. Many patients come in regularly solely because his treatments give them a sense of wellbeing that helps them feel and function at their best.

Before launching his career in acupuncture, Lucas worked in many different professions, including food service, as a server, bartender and cook, as a musician and travelling educator, arranging music and teaching piano and acoustic science all over the country, and as an audio engineer in New York’s bustling film industry. These varied jobs have given Lucas a unique and varied perspective of the many joys and challenges that modern life presents, and the potential conflicts that can arise between navigating the world such as it is and our mental and physical health. As an acupuncturist and healer, this informs his diagnoses and treatments.

Lucas currently lives in Brooklyn with his wife, Victoria, who is a surgical nurse. He is a pianist, guitarist, and a lover of the outdoors. He stays fit by rock climbing, hiking, surfing and snowboarding. While he might spend the occasional summer afternoon laying out at the beach, he more frequently likes working for his relaxation – eating a lunch of avocado, sardines and flat bread by a lake halfway through a long hike with Vickie.

Highly recommend this Center and Lucas is amazing! I was very nervous about trying acupuncture however I was desperate to get pain relief from my tennis elbow. Lukas is patient and a miracle worker - after only a few weeks, I am almost completely pain free - after three years!! I am astonished at my results and highly recommend this Acupuncture Center.

I went in to treat TMJ that I had for over 8 years after a severely bad wisdom tooth surgery. I’ve had muscle knots and extreme tension in my face for years and I kind of just thought that I had to live with that for the rest of my life. Well, I’m so happy I decided to start the acupuncture journey. I’ve been working with Lucas who is a great listener and I’ve already had multiple “ground breaking” sessions. I really feel the effects of the treatment that evening and next day, where I notice more and more my jaw and face relaxing and releasing tensions. It’s subtle, yet powerful + very real. It’s awesome to feel this tension release in my face that I’ve been holding on to for 8 years. Staff and building are lovely as well and I look forward to my sessions. Overall, acupuncture really gets to the POINT of the problem!

As someone who was weary of needles the whole experience from beginning to end was extremely comfortable. Lucas is great and I have seen such a difference since getting acupuncture. As someone who has struggled with migraines and anxiety acupuncture has been a great help and I am extremely thankful for the center!

Lucas has been amazing. I went in for my painful shoulder and the treatment was a game changer. He has treated my back and neck issues with stim and acupuncture with great results. I was not an acupuncture guy before I went here but I am a convert.

I highly recommend the Acupuncture Center of NJ. I had never before experienced acupuncture until becoming a patient several months ago, and I’m extremely happy with the results I’ve seen for some nerve problems, which resulted from a disk issue in my cervical/thoracic spine. Lucas, my practitioner, is incredibly patient and caring, and goes above and beyond to provide a positive experience
