“I sought out acupuncture for general neck and back pain. When I come for a treatment, I ask Punita to specifically focus on where I have pain/tightness at the moment- sometimes it is more shoulders, sometimes neck, sometimes in my lower back/hips. Punita asks excellent diagnostic questions so she can be as precise as possible with her needle position and application. The needles themselves do not really “hurt”- it is more of a sharpness when they are first applied and then nothing. During the treatment, I often feel warmth or heaviness in targeted areas and will feel an increase of energy flowing through my body. Afterwards, I always feel more relaxed, my body feels less tight and achy, and I also have increased energy, similar to after a massage. One additional benefit I noticed is that my eyes feel less strained when I read or work on the computer.The center is a very welcoming, supportive environment. As soon as I walk in, I can feel by body/psyche relax- even when just sitting in the waiting room! The front desk is very helpful in working with me to find appointment times that fit with my schedule.Punita is a wonderful therapist whose clinical expertise is balanced with her warm and caring “bedside manner”. During my initial consultation, we talked at length about my health history and current factors impacting my maximal health. She is very reassuring and calming. I trust that Punita will understand what I am saying and interpret it in the best diagnostic way possible! When I arrive, we always talk about what is going on in my work/personal life that could be impacting my health; this informs her treatment. I really appreciate that Punita is flexible enough to alter treatment based on what is going on for me on my appointment days. When I got sick in February and March, we changed gears and Punita specifically focused on my sinuses and chest.Overall, I am really pleased and satisfied with everything about my experiences at the center. “Acupuncture gave me hope to start a family -
I have been through many different doctors, different procedures, and medications trying to figure out what was causing the pain in my stomach for the past several years. It seemed that no one could answer my questions or help me in my situation.That was when I looked into acupuncture. I called ACNJ and the staff was more than happy to help me, answer all of my questions, and schedule my first appointment. Punita made the experience relaxing and enjoyable from the first session I had. I truly feel like this was the first time that someone had taken the time to listen to what I was feeling and pinpointed where the pain was. Just after a few sessions my pain subsided and she has given me hope that I will not have to live with this pain for the rest of my life, which I did not think was possible. I also recently started the journey of trying to become pregnant. It has not been an easy journey but Punita has helped me put my mind at ease and makes me feel hopeful.
