Judith is a 34-year-old female who had been trying to get pregnant for over two years. She went to a fertility specialist who told her she needed to take fertility medication and go through in-vitro fertilization (IVF) in order to succeed at her dreams of having a family. She was very reluctant to do so and much preferred a natural approach of nutrition, exercise, relaxation modalities in her life and alternative therapies like acupuncture. I felt that Judith would need at least two months of acupuncture treatment and taking Chinese herbs before she would get pregnant. Happily Judith responded quickly and within a few weeks many of her signs and symptoms improved: her period came on time and without cramps and PMS. Next month she reported that her period was late and within a few days tested positive for pregnancy. Subsequent checkup with her obstetrician confirmed that she was pregnant!
Judith has continued to come for regular acupuncture treatments. She is at the end of her second trimester and has had a very smooth and comfortable pregnancy.
