Dr. Tan & Master Tong Acupuncture
Jonathan Holasek joined ACNJ in 2012 and had been the team leader at our acupuncture clinic at the Center for Complementary Medicine in Saint Clare’s Hospital in Dover and is currently practicing in our Morristown office. Jon is very thoughtful, serious and dedicated to learning and training to be the most complete acupuncturist possible. His patients love his calm, focused approach and his unquestioned commitment to addressing their health concerns. Jonathan is a Licensed Acupuncturist with State and National Board Certification. He got his BA at Kenyon College in Ohio, and he earned his Masters of Science in Acupuncture degree in 2005 from the Eastern School of Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine in Montclair, NJ. His focus is on natural, integrated healthcare, and includes extensive experience with a variety of pain, stress, digestive and fertility issues.
Jon brings unique needling and palpation-based diagnostic skills to ACNJ. He has trained extensively with world renowned teachers and authors Dr. Henry McCann, Dr. Richard Teh-Fu Tan, Kiiko Matsumoto and Susan Johnson. His current skills utilize the teachings of Master Tung, blending over 1,800 years of Tung Family experience with Dr. Tan’s unique technique based upon his interpretation of that knowledge.
Jon also is affiliated with Reproductive Medicine Associates (RMA), performing electro-acupuncture anesthesia for oocyte retrieval, as well as laser-acupuncture during Embryo Transfer procedures, thereby enhancing the success of implantation.
Leaving his business career in advertising and publishing in 2002 was an easy decision for Jonathan, a natural step in his spiritual growth as he realized his inherent desire to contribute positively to society through helping others. His earlier personal health experiences with complementary medicine directed him toward the ancient, natural, safe and effective healing methods of acupuncture and oriental medicine. And he is finding tremendous personal fulfillment in sharing his skills to help patients find their path back to health.
Jonathan is a member of the International Association of Healthcare Practitioners, the Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Alliance, the New Jersey Acupuncture Association, a diplomate of NCCAOM, and a member of the Board of Directors of Mountain Lakes Library. He lives in Mountain Lakes, New Jersey with his wife of 28 years and two college daughters. His interests include music, reading and he loves to play golf.
