Rachel DeMattio, L.Ac, M.S.T.O.M.
Rachel DeMattio is a graduate of Fordham University with a Bachelors Degree in Communications and Journalism, and of the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (NY) with a Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine. In addition to being licensed to practice acupuncture in the State of New Jersey, Rachel is nationally certified in herbal medicine and acupuncture by the National Certification for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and is certified in clean needle technique with the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
Rachel’s journey into the world of acupuncture began at a very young age, thanks to her mother’s passion for finding alternative, natural ways to wellness and healing for the family. From a young age, Rachel was exposed to Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, homeopathy, Reiki and other non-traditional healing modalities. Her own desire to learn this medicine ignited after receiving her B.A. in Journalism. It was a moment of “instant knowing” that led her to the realization that her path in life was to become a healer. Before becoming an associate, Rachel worked at the Randolph Pain Relief and Wellness Center, and maintained her own practice of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine alongside acclaimed Dr. Nicholas Abrishamian of Chester, New Jersey. Here she learned how to incorporate proper nutrition, western supplementation, homeopathy and the use of blood work to help detect illnesses and imbalances in the body, into her own health and wellness practice.
Rachel was voted one of NJ’s Top Doctors for 2011/2012 in the field of Acupuncture, and is certified by Mary Elizabeth Wakefield in Constitutional Facial Rejuvenation. Rachel’s acupuncture style is gentle and rhythmic, while her demeanor is calm and encouraging. Her ultimate goal is to teach patients how they can be well and stay well, and to empower them to maintain a positive outlook throughout their journey to a healthier and happier self. Today she is happily situated in her profession where she strives to bring out the best in her patients on both a physical and spiritual level.

Lisa Brick, L.Ac., C.P.C.
Certified Professional Core Energy Coach
Lisa synthesizes the sum of her experiences, expertise, and insight by empowering clients to invest their energy in lives increasingly more aligned with their core values. She helps them to discover how to unleash their potential and creativity through recognition and a conscious utilization of the seven levels of core energy. The outcome of being able to utilize all seven levels is an increase in well-being, creativity and effectiveness in personal and professional realms of life.
Long an innovator, experienced in creating personal and professional successes for herself in both likely and unlikely circumstances, she began practicing acupuncture in Massachusetts in 1979, long before acupuncture was recognized or respected as a medical profession in this country. After moving to NJ in 1983, Lisa and her husband, Peter Kadar, created The Acupuncture Center of New Jersey.
After the birth of their first child, Lisa chose to be an at-home mother, while continuing to support Peter in achieving unprecedented growth and success in the emerging field of Chinese Medicine. In addition to the occasional practice of acupuncture, she helped family and friends identify their inner values and utilize them to impassion their lives and reach for what was truly important to them. She would later recognize these skills and techniques as the practice of “coaching.”
In 1994, Lisa began the process of creating a charter school with a curriculum infused with the ideas of sustainability in Morristown, New Jersey. Unity Charter School opened its doors in 1998 and is now in its second decade. She stepped down from her position as Board President and Interim Director of the charter school in 2000 to assume management of operations at the Acupuncture Center of New Jersey, while attending to the care for and end-of-life issues of her parents.
Lisa’s kidneys failed in 2008, a result of Polycystic Kidney Disease, a genetic condition. Later that year, after a period on dialysis, she received a healthy kidney from her nephew Jared. She invested herself creatively and powerfully during her year of kidney failure and subsequent period of transplant recovery. She lived through these experiences with peace and grace, a testament to her ability to “walk her talk.”
While recovering, Lisa enrolled in the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC) where she was introduced to the seven levels of energy, a brilliant body of understanding by Bruce D. Schneider, founder of iPEC. She graduated from iPEC in 2010 and is energetically utilizing all of what she learned in her life and with her clients.
Today Lisa synthesizes the sum of her experiences, expertise, and insight as a coach and owner of Power & Purpose Coaching, in addition to being an involved partner at the Acupuncture Center of New Jersey. Lisa lives creatively with power and purpose, focuses on innovative possibilities in existing situations, and designs and implements new opportunities for enjoying and appreciating the experience of being. She takes great joy in empowering others, family, friends, and clients, in aligning their lives with their core values and loves to share the pleasure as they unleash their potential and creativity through a more conscious direction of their core energies.
