Dry Needling
Dry needling is a style of Acupuncture specifically developed for treating orthopedic issues like joint and muscle pain. The acupuncturist inserts needles into specific locations along a muscle called “motor” or “trigger” points. These points act as control areas for the whole muscle, and often will cause the muscle to quickly contract and release, which relaxes tension and signals the body to increase the flow of blood and anti-inflammatory agents.
Lucas Kadar is our dry needling specialist. He has focused on honing this skill both during school and as a practitioner. He is known for his painless needle insertion and skill in getting tight and painful muscles to relax.
We recommend getting dry needling from an acupuncturist. While physical therapists also can provide dry needling, they undergo much less training than acupuncturists, potentially causing a higher risk of pain and injury.
