Quit Smoking

Acupuncture Will Help You Quit Smoking!

Everyone knows that smoking is dangerous, addictive, expensive and increasingly unpopular and socially unacceptable.  Many people who are addicted, chronic smokers often are desperate to quit. They have tried nicotine gums, patches, medications, hypnosis and cold turkey methods and have experienced failure and frustration and increased loss of well-being and self-esteem.

Nicotine is a very powerful and addictive drug. The tobacco companies use nicotine to ensure that smokers will get hooked on smoking and find it very hard to quit. Acupuncture is an excellent treatment option that works naturally on the smoker’s impaired and addicted brain and blood chemistry and makes it much easier to kick the habit.

The insertion of ultra-fine acupuncture needles in the ear and other acupuncture points immediately relaxes and stimulates the parts of the brain that are triggered by withdrawal reactions. Acupuncture treatment greatly reduces the craving for smoking and symptoms of withdrawal such as irritability, hunger, shakiness, sleeplessness, etc.  Between treatments, small press pellets are placed on the acupuncture points in the ear so the patient can apply pressure whenever they have a craving to smoke.

We usually recommend a minimum of five treatments over two to three weeks so that patients are successful in quitting and staying off cigarettes. We have an 80 percent success rate.  If you are committed to becoming a non-smoker, you will find that acupuncture will be of great benefit to you. If you have tried and failed using other methods, try acupuncture. It’s safe, natural and very effective.

We'll be happy to discuss how acupuncture can help with quitting smoking.  Call our office at (973) 984-2800 to schedule an appointment, or email us, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
